Mel and Aliss
Join us for a special making session for adults. We will be making medium sized birds and you'll learn lots of wonderful techniques. This is a specialist workshop for those who are good with their hands.
It will be a small group, so you'll get plenty of attention!
Bring some lights to add to your lantern and use in your home or garden
Tuition from professional artists Mel and Aliss.
Skills required:
Enthusiasm and patience!
Good manual skills
Beginners as well as creative makers welcome

Aliss and Mel have many years of experience, teaching lantern making and organising processions. They will be sharing their knowledge and helping with your queries in a friendly and supportive environment.
* We'll provide Somerset grown willow withies, specialist lantern paper, glue + refreshments; tools available to borrow in the workshop if you dont have any
You'll need to bring:
- Packed lunch
- Secateurs if you prefer to use your own
- Fairy lights / torch (not included in cost of workshop)
- Bamboo / stick to carry your lantern if you have them
- Apron or wear old clothing - it may get messy with glue!
Please note: you'll need to take your lantern with you at the end of the day, so please either walk to the venue and carry it home, or bring a plastic bag/sheet to put in your car.
