Parade Timings & Safety information
Join the Parade:
from 6pm Please assemble outside St John's church, Bath Street with your lanterns all lit up
6.20pm prompt >> please be ready, we'll be starting the parade! The Samba band will lead the parade, followed by the electric trike / showstopper lanterns with Mel and Aliss
6.45pm The Christmas Lights Switch On - Market Place
Samba will then lead parade off towards the library
There will be a stall by Active and In Touch near St John's church selling hot chocolate, drinks and cakes, do support this wonderful fundraiser and also bring any spare change to pop in the buckets for the Big Christmas Get together event on Christmas day, many thanks.
Watch the parade: Line the Route with your smaller lanterns! We'd love to see your lanterns held up high as the parade moves along the streets - Bath Street - Market Place - Westway precinct
There will be performances from 5pm in the town centre (see below) to keep you entertained while you wait.

18.45pm: Mayor on balcony for light switch on
19.00pm: Lantern procession continues – Market Place to Market Yard, via Scott Road and Westway Centre
19.15pm: Event finishes

Parade safety, please read:
- *Please fit a small battery (flameless) torch inside your lantern and attach a cane to hold high if you're able to
- If you're near the front, please follow the electric tricycle and go past the Christmas tree into Market Place to Boots Pharmacy, to allow the rest of the parade to come down the hill into town **
- Please be mindful of potholes and bollards**
**please follow guidance from FromeTown Council Marshalls - they'll be wearing Hi-Viz jackets and looking after the procession. If there's a problem, please ask for help> Wrap up warm
